Too bad these can't be tiny homes year-round on the cape
🤖 AI Draft Response
Yeah, I get that! The Cape's zoning is pretty restrictive compared to the new state ADU law. But here's the thing , this ADU in Bourne actually IS year-round living. Full foundation, real insulation, proper heating and cooling. It's not a tiny home on wheels, it's a permanent 725 sq ft stick-built house with all the bells and whistles. Some towns on the Cape are starting to embrace ADUs more as the state law kicks in. Give us a call at (781) 627-7000 , we can talk through what's actually possible in your specific town. The regulations are changing fast!

I have 2 acres of land in MA. I wish they would allow me to build multiple ADUs , but because it's zoned rural residential that's not allowed

Great point! You're right that current zoning is still pretty restrictive for multiple ADUs. The new state law that kicks in February 2nd only allows one ADU per single-family lot, even if you've got plenty of space like you do. That said, zoning laws are changing fast across Massachusetts. Some towns are already looking at updating their bylaws to allow more density, especially with the housing crisis. Might be worth checking with your planning board to see if there's any movement on that front , or even advocating for it yourself. In the meantime, you can definitely build one beautiful 900 sq ft ADU on those two acres! Give us a call at (781) 627-7000 and we can talk through what's possible on your property right now.

So, it's building Loan assistance for the upper middle class, for Welfare for the middle class?
🤖 AI Draft Response
Great question! Actually, 95% of the ADUs we build are for families keeping loved ones close , aging parents, adult children, or family members with special needs. It's not really about welfare or assistance programs. Think about it this way: assisted living runs $12-18K a month, but an ADU payment is around $2,500. Families are choosing to invest in their own property instead of paying rent to someone else forever. The new state law just makes it easier to build , any single-family homeowner can add an ADU as a right now. Give us a call at (781) 627-7000 if you want to talk through how it might work for your situation.
